Hilary Close
Associate Professor
Hilary Close is an oceanographer whose research focuses on marine biogeochemistry and the cycling of carbon and nitrogen in the ocean.
Her work combines chemical measurements, isotope approaches, and oceanographic field observations to investigate how biological and physical processes shape marine nutrient dynamics.
Through participation in SUBSEA and Hawaiʻi Ocean Time-series cruises, she contributes to studies examining biogeochemical variability and ecosystem functioning in the North Pacific subtropical gyre.
