Mattia Da Fieno

Technician

Mattia Da Fieno is a research technician for SUBSEA with a B.S. in Global Environmental Science from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

His background in oceanography began as a student assistant for the Hawaiʻi Ocean Time-series (HOT) program, where he continues to work today, having totaled over 100 days at sea.

His duties include the preparation of cruise materials, collection of samples and deck operations at sea, and data analysis for chlorophyll and ammonia.

Additionally, Mattia is also the Junior Field Coordinator for OBVI’s core measurements.
